7:58 In today's Imperfect Show,Mekedatu dam issues:The Mekedatu project is “the right of Karnataka” and the state government is willing to help neighbour Tamil Nadu understand the project better, Water Resources Minister DK Shivakumar said on Thursday. The Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously demanded the Union Government to withdraw the permission given to Karnataka to prepare a detailed project report or DPR for a proposed dam across the Cauvery at Mekedatu, in yet another face off between the neighbouring states over sharing of river water.
Kalaignar statue unveiling event:

The mega statue of “ Karunanidhi,” the late DMK leader, will be installed in Arivalayam, the DMK Headquarters. Sonia Gandhi, the Congress leader had already been invited to this grand event on Dec 16. But the sources as said that Stalin had not invited Rajinikanth or Kamal for the convene a special session of the assembly to pass a resolution against the move of Karnataka to construct a dam across the Cauvery at Mekedatu.
Gutkha Scam:
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued summons to State Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar and his aide Saravanan asking them to appear before its Anti-Corruption (III) Unit in the city in connection with the multi-crore gutkha scam. Members of the Anti Corruption Unit in Delhi have set up an office in the city to investigate the case. They had previously issued two summon orders to Saravanan. However, he did not appear on both the occasions.
Gaja cyclone:
The central government on Thursday approved additional assistance of Rs. 3048.39 crore, Rs. 131.16 crore and Rs. 539.52 crore to the states of Kerala,affected places by floods. The High level committee approved the additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).Earlier Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought central assistance of Rs 15,000 crore for relief and rehabilitation work after destruction caused by Cyclone Gaja in the state.They haven't announce yet how many amount they have allotted for Gaja cyclone.
