Conor Chaplin and Kal Naismith scored in the first-half for the hosts - as Foster and academy coach Mikey Harris took charge - with Dylan Rees netting for The Bluebirds in stoppage time.
The Blues used the friendly as a chance to experiment with fringe players and academy prospects, in the absence of entry into this season's Final Third Development league.
