In today's The Imperfect Show, Tamil Nadu appoints its first non-Brahmin priest : 12 years after Tamil Nadu government order, a temple under Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE) gets a non-Brahmin priest. Under then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi, the TN government issued an order stating that members of all castes, with suitable training, could be appointed archakas at any Tamil Nadu temple. Marichamy, belonging to Most Backward Caste (MBC) community has been appointed archaka in an HR & CE-controlled Ayyappan temple at Madurai. On the contrary, a UP temple was allegedly purified with 'Gangajal' after a dalit Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Manisha Anuragi's visit.
Will Alagiri play spoilsport for DMK in 2019 Lok Sabha polls?

Recently M K Alagiri claimed that genuine workers of the party were with him and Stalin is the “non-working president” of the party. Alagiri, elder son of DMK patriarch M. Jayalalithaa Controversial Hospital Video: Fake or Real?
At the time of R K Nagar byelection, the TTV Dinakaran camp had released a video of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha in hospital bed. In the footage, Jayalalithaa is seen in a night dress, apparently watching TV and having a juice. The footage was released by TTV Dinakaran supporter and disqualified AIADMK MLA P Vetrivel at the Secretariat. He said the video was recorded by AIADMK leader V K Sasikala after Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals. The recently instituted Justice Arumugasamy commission, formed to enquire into the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, has reportedly said that the video was fake.
